In a move that’s sure to thrill ARMYs around the world, all seven BTS members have officially committed to renewing their contracts with BigHit Music and HYBE. In a statement released jointly by BigHit and HYBE, they express their optimism and excitement for the group’s future:

“With the renewal of their contracts, we hope we will be able to share with everyone a full group promotional period for BTS in 2025.

Hype and Big Hit Music will do everything we can to support and further improve BTS’s status.”

The renewal of their contracts will occur at different times, taking place individually due to the military status of some members. The duration of the contract remains unclear.

What are BTS members up to now?

After nearly a decade together, BTS announced that they would go on an indefinite hiatus on June 14, 2022. Since then, the members have pursued their solo ventures.

As the oldest member of BTS, Jin was the first to fulfill South Korea’s mandatory enlistment. Prior to enlisting, he released his first official single, “The Astronaut” on October 28, 2022.

On April 21, 2023, Suga (Agust D) released his third album, D Day, and became the first BTS member to embark on a solo tour. His first single on the album, “People Pt. 2,” featured singer IU, marking the second time the two artists have collaborated.

On July 15, 2022, J-Hope debuted his solo album called Jack In The Box. He has also collaborated with other artists, including Crush for the single “Rush Hour” and J.Cole for the single “on the street.”

RM released his first full-length album Indigo on December 2, 2022. This album features artists like Erykah Badu, Paul Blanco, Anderson.Paak, Epik High’s Tablo, and Mahalia. He was also featured on the track for “Smoke Sprite,” by So!YoON!

On March 24, 2023, Jimin released his debut album, FACE. With his single, “Like Crazy,” he has become the first South Korean soloist to claim the No. 1 spot on the Billboard Hot 100. He has also collaborated with Taeyang for “VIBE” and with JVKE, Muni Long, Kodak Black, and NLE Choppa on “Angel pt.1” for Fast X.

V recently released his debut album, Layover, on September 8, 2023. He has also continued to pursue his acting career in the Disney+ show, In the Scoop: Friendcation.

Jungkook released a single with Charlie Puth titled “Left and Right.” On July 14, he had his official solo debut with “Seven.” This song bags the ‘Song of the Summer’ category at the VMAs, making him the first South Korean soloist to win a VMA award.
