Taylor Swift’s appearance on Travis and Jason Kelce’s New Heights podcast drew 1.3M live viewers, breaking YouTube records and sparking buzz with details about her new album The Life of a Showgirl.
Pop’s biggest showgirl just pulled off one of YouTube’s biggest moments. On Wednesday, Taylor Swift joined Travis and Jason Kelce’s New Heights podcast, and fans showed up in record-breaking numbers.
According to YouTube, the livestream peaked at 1.3 million concurrent viewers, the most ever for a podcast since the platform launched its dedicated podcast hub in 2023. Jason Kelce even joked about the number on X (formerly Twitter), writing: “I mean this video being 1.3 million views is the epitome of numerology,” referencing Swift’s famous lucky number 13.
The impact wasn’t limited to YouTube. Spotify reported that the episode quickly became one of the highest-performing podcasts of the past year, with female listenership jumping by more than 600% in just one day.
It’s clear why fans flocked to the episode: Swift not only discussed her romance with Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce and reflected on her record-breaking Eras Tour, but also revealed major details about her upcoming album.
During the conversation, Swift officially introduced her 12th studio album, The Life of a Showgirl, unveiling its cover art, tracklist, and release date.
She described the project as a more vibrant, carefree turn in her career:
“[The album is] a lot more upbeat, and it’s a lot more fun pop excitement … My main goals were melodies that were so infectious, you’re almost angry at it. We’ve made songs that I’m so proud of.”
With Swift balancing milestones like reclaiming her masters, finishing her historic tour, and now preparing one of her most highly anticipated albums, it’s no surprise her New Heights debut became a record-setting cultural event.
