Tame Impala Releases New Single "End of Summer," Signaling Artistic Evolution

Sabrina Carpenter’s Short n’ Sweet

The psychedelic music project led by Kevin Parker debuts first track since 2020's The Slow Rush

New Music After Five-Year Hiatus

Australian musician Kevin Parker has unveiled "End of Summer," the first new Tame Impala single in over five years. The seven-minute track marks Parker's debut release under new label Columbia Records and represents a notable shift in his signature sound.

A Departure From Previous Work

While maintaining Parker's distinctive vocals, "End of Summer" explores new sonic territory:

  •  Incorporates elements of dance and electronic music
  • Builds on disco influences hinted at in previous albums
  • Described in press materials as "future primitive rave"

The single arrives with a music video directed by Julian Klincewicz, featuring rapid-cut imagery and performance footage.

Album Rumors Swirl

Though not officially confirmed as part of a larger project:

  • Parker recently posted Instagram photos teasing new music
  • A sold-out, untitled 12" vinyl appeared on the Tame Impala webstore
  • A whiteboard in Parker's studio (visible in social media posts) lists potential album tracks

Recent Projects and Collaborations

Since 2020's The Slow Rush, Parker has:

  • Produced tracks for Dua Lipa's Radical Optimism
  • Collaborated with Justice, winning a 2025 Grammy for "Neverender"
  • Released music for the Barbie soundtrack
  • Created remixes for Crowded House and Elvis Presley

Upcoming Appearances

Tame Impala is scheduled to perform DJ sets supporting Justice during their Australian tour in December 2025.

"End of Summer" is now available on all major streaming platforms.
