Luna Shadows has finally unveiled her long-awaited LP, "bathwater," a deeply personal journey through emotion and memory. Released independently on June 21st, this album marks a significant departure from her previous work, Digital Pacific, embracing a blend of 70s folk/rock, 90s grunge, and 2000s indie-pop influences. The title track, 'bathwater,' stands as the album's centerpiece, a poignant reflection on anticipatory grief and childhood memories inspired by her mother.
In discussing the album, Shadows revealed her deliberate approach to crafting every lyric independently, seeking quietude to delve into her introspective journey. Co-produced with Bradley Hale and enhanced by Grammy-winning engineer Beatriz Artola, "bathwater" navigates themes of love, loss, and self-discovery through a mix of electronic textures, organic instrumentation, and immersive soundscapes.
Each song on "bathwater" unfolds like a chapter in a narrative, capturing the ebb and flow of emotions. From the ethereal 'full moon' to the introspective 'stay mad' and the dreamlike 'honeymoon,' Shadows' dreamy vocals guide listeners through a sonic exploration of her inner world.
